Viewers in the United States will be able to watch the Chinese Grand Prix via live streaming this weekend.

Free Practice 2, qualifying and the race will be available via NBC Sports Live Extra this weekend, giving viewers additional ways to watch the sessions thanks to the new service.

NBC Sports Live Extra is a service offered through participating cable, satellite and telco TV providers that allows you access to watch NBC Sports coverage of live events from NBC and NBCSports Network across NBCSports.com/LiveExtra and through NBCSports Live Extra Applications available for IOS and select Android devices.

The rest of the season will also be live streamed via the service, which now means that Formula One fans can watch on the action when on the move. Any sessions shown live on one of NBC’s channels will be available on NBC Sports Live Extra.

Social roundup: Racing world largely outraged by Verstappen penalty

The discussion over Max Verstappen’s post-race five-second time penalty assessed in Sunday’s United States Grand Prix, issued when he tried to the inside of Kimi Raikkonen at the Turns 16, 17 and 18 carousel complex at Circuit of The Americas, will roll on far beyond today.

The debate today largely centered over consistency in adjudication and application of the rules, track limits themselves (always a sore subject at COTA given its wide runoff areas) or whether there should be permanent stewards.

In the immediate aftermath, though, Twitter lit up with outrage over Verstappen being assessed a five-second post-race time penalty.
