Biffle: New sponsor for No. 16 to be announced “in a few weeks”

As we told you Tuesday morning, longtime Roush Fenway Racing and Greg Biffle backer 3M is heading to Hendrick Motorsports to become a primary sponsor for Jeff Gordon over the next three seasons.

It’s certainly not an ideal situation for the RFR camp, which is also set to lose the services of Carl Edwards at the end of this season. But it looks like we won’t have to fret too much over the situation, as Biffle has tweeted the following this evening:

Roush Fenway Racing president Steve Newmark also tweeted earlier today that the team looks forward to revealing the new sponsors for the No. 16 car:

As for the other RFR competitors, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will take over the Fastenal sponsorship from the outgoing Edwards and also retain backing from Zest. Trevor Bayne will bring his current Nationwide Series sponsor, Advocare, up with him as he returns to Cup racing full-time.
