One of A.J. Foyt’s best friends, longtime confidants and sponsors, Jack “J.D.” Housby, has died at age 80, the A.J. Foyt Enterprises team confirmed late Thursday.
Housby was one of Foyt’s best friends for more than 50 years, and a regular fixture riding on Foyt’s golf cart at Indianapolis. Housby attended 65 straight ‘500s, per the team.
He had been the largest Mack Truck dealer in Iowa.
