Two more drivers have confirmed their plans for the upcoming Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda season, announced within the last 24 hours.

Pabst Racing has announced Yufeng Luo, the 17-year-old Chinese-born driver now residing in Arcadia, Calif., will return to the team for a second season alongside Garth Rickards. Luo finished eighth in points with three top-fives and eight top-10 results as a rookie.

Elsewhere Spencer Racing - no relation or affiliation to past USF2000 competitor and Indy Lights/Pro Mazda champion Spencer Pigot - will move into USF2000 from the SCCA Pro 2000 ranks with driver Eric Filgueiras. Filguerias and Spencer Racing will compete in the National class, which USF2000 has had in the past for older chassis but not in the last couple of years.

The Spencer Racing effort will feature a technical partnership with KV Racing Technology and team co-owner Jimmy Vasser, who will support the technical side of the team’s at-track operations.

The USF2000 field has been in the mid-to-high teens the last couple years and may blossom into a bigger grid in 2016, as it’s the last year for the existing chassis before the new Tatuus chassis, the Tatuus USF-17, comes online in 2017.
