Robert Kubica has confirmed that he will not compete in the forthcoming FIA World Rally Championship event in Sweden.
Kubica had been expected to walk away from rallying following the 2015 season after hinting that he was looking to return to circuit racing, five years on from the accident that ended his Formula 1 career.
The Pole appeared as a surprise entry for the opening WRC round in Monte Carlo last week, but was forced to retire after crashing twice.
On Friday, Kubica took to his Facebook page to post a short message confirming that he would not be taking part in Rally Sweden.
“I am sorry to confirm that we will not compete in this year’s Rally Sweden,” Kubica said.
Although no further plans are known at this time, it would appear that Kubica’s time in the WRC has come to an end.
The former BMW and Renault F1 driver won the WRC2 title in 2013 and claimed 14 stage victories across the course of his time in the WRC.
