TORONTO - Sebastien Bourdais’ strong weekend continues as the driver of the No. 11 Team Hydroxycut KVSH Racing Chevrolet topped the 30-minute morning warmup session for today’s Honda Indy Toronto (2:30 p.m. ET, CNBC).
Bourdais’ best time was 1:01.2130, ahead of Honda runners Ryan Hunter-Reay and Graham Rahal, with Josef Newgarden and Helio Castroneves completing the top five.
Polesitter Scott Dixon was only 16th in the session in the No. 9 Target Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet.
Meanwhile the Dale Coyne Racing crew for Conor Daly in his No. 18 Jonathan Byrd’s Hospitality Honda will have a thrash to fix the right front suspension of his car, after Daly clipped the curb in Turn 5 and shot into the outside retaining wall.
The morning driver meeting did not produce a decision to move the start, and the field will run slowly through Turns 9, 10 and 11 before launching out of the corner and assembling into rows.
