Loic Duval has been named in Audi’s line-up for the DTM rookie test at the Jerez circuit in Spain next week.

Duval, 34, has been part of Audi’s LMP1 line-up in the FIA World Endurance Championship since 2012, winning Le Mans alongside Allan McNish and Tom Kristensen in 2013 as well as claiming the WEC drivers’ title that year.

Following Audi’s decision to leave the WEC and end its LMP1 program following the 2016 season, Duval’s current racing commitments lie solely in Formula E with Faraday Future Dragon Racing.

The Frenchman will get a chance to sample a DTM car for Audi next week, though, taking part in the rookie test for the German marque.

Duval will be joined in the test alongside McLaren Formula 1 youngster and GP3 racer Nyck de Vries, plus sportscar racers Dion von Moltke and Kelvin van der Linde.

Audi recently re-affirmed its commitment to DTM despite the end of its LMP1 program, although it will cut back from eight to six cars for 2017 as part of a common agreement with rival manufacturers BMW and Mercedes.
