While the 2017-18 FIA Formula E Championship is already under way - a pair of races were conducted in Hong Kong last weekend - an amendment to the schedule will see Formula E return to Punta del Este, Uruguay in March of 2018.
The event, scheduled for March 17, 2018 and confirmed via a release from the World Motor Sport Council, replaces the originally scheduled event in Sao Paulo, Brazil, which would have been the first ever Formula E event held on the streets of Sao Paulo.
Formula E previously visited Punta del Este in each of its first two seasons, with Sebastien Buemi scoring victory at both visits.
With two rounds already in the books, Sam Bird currently leads the Formula E championship, two points ahead of Jean-Éric Vergne.
