NEXTEV TCR, formerly known as China Racing, has confirmed that Spanish driver Antonio Garcia will replace Charles Pic for next weekend’s Moscow ePrix.

Garcia, 34, is a three-time GT class winner with Aston Martin and Corvette, and still races for the latter as a works driver in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.

After testing for China Racing at Donington Park ahead of the inaugural Formula E race in Beijing, the Spaniard was drafted in as a replacement for Ho-Pin Tung in the no. 88 car for the Punta del Este ePrix in December where he finished 11th.

Garcia has now been given the nod once again for the upcoming Moscow ePrix, set to take place not far from the iconic Kremlin, in place of France’s Charles Pic.

The team heads into next weekend’s race with leader driver Nelson Piquet Jr leading the championship standings following Lucas di Grassi’s exclusion from the last race in Berlin.

Garcia is the second driver to be drafted in for the race in Moscow, with IndyCar’s Justin Wilson racing for Andretti in place of Scott Speed, who is away with Global Rallycross duties.
