More info released on TV cable snap in Charlotte NASCAR race

On Monday, FOX Sports released more information regarding the failure of a TV cable during Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600.

In a statement, it said it was performing a full investigation and that further use of the camera is suspended indefinitely. FOX said the camera had been tested by the manufacturer and inspected by the vendor last June. Reportedly, according to USA Today, it could withstand more than 9,300 pounds of force.

Ten fans were injured, with three of them treated and released from local hospitals, and the other seven treated and released on site.

Kyle Busch’s car was most affected; his crew fixed the car but he later retired with engine issues.
