A paralyzed driver could be one of IndyCar’s future stars

Over the IndyCar weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course a couple weeks ago, a colleague of mine Jamey Price gleaned some insight into one of the potential stars on the Mazda Road to Indy ladder, Michael Johnson. Johnson (pictured right, USF2000 photo) is teammate to Arthur Oliveira, Clark Toppe and Stefan Rzadzinski for JDC Motorsports in the USF2000 National Championship.

The biggest difference between Johnson and everyone else? He’s paralyzed from the chest down.

That hasn’t got in the way of his dreams and Price took on a joint photographic/journalistic assignment to examine Johnson’s M.O. and how he goes about his racing business. It’s a great read, and linked here via Road & Track.
