Mark Webber has enjoyed an eleven year career in Formula One that has taken him from the very back of the grid to the very front. After debuting with Minardi back in 2002, Webber became a mainstay on the grid and in the paddock over the next few years, driving for Jaguar and Williams before moving to Red Bull in 2007. With the Austrian team, Webber won his first race in 2009 and came third in the 2010 drivers’ championship, losing out to teammate Sebastian Vettel at the final race. In recent years, Webber’s rivalry with Vettel has hit the headlines, but the Australian driver has remained a fan favorite because of his honest and outspoken attitude in the paddock.
Webber sat down with NBC’s Will Buxton for a one-on-one interview in Korea ahead of his final six races in Formula One before moving to Porsche’s LMP1 campaign for 2014. Being such a great character in the paddock, it is clear that Webber will be sorely missed when he does leave the sport at the end of the season.
