The likes of Monaco, Abu Dhabi and Singapore may provide the glamor on the Formula One calendar, but the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas is quickly becoming a favorite for all involved with the sport. After a five-year hiatus, America has embraced the return of F1 racing in Austin, Texas, and this weekend is without a doubt one of the biggest of the year even if both championships have been decided.
Sebastian Vettel did not have it all his own way in qualifying at COTA yesterday, but the German driver managed to produce a stunning final lap in qualifying to deny teammate Mark Webber a third pole position in four races. Romain Grosjean was the ‘best of the rest’ in third, a full seven-tenths down on Webber, whilst Nico Hulkenberg impressed to qualify P4 ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso.
