Porsche is rolling its announcements out in waves. After its LMP1 car premiered last weekend, now the German manufacturer has revealed who will be driving the CORE autosport-run Porsche 911 RSRs in the 2014 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.
Four of Porsche’s factory drivers will be split between the No. 911 and 912 cars in the GTLM class. Nick Tandy and Richard Lietz will drive No. 911, with Patrick Long and Michael Christensen in the No. 912. Patrick Pilet (No. 911) and Jorg Bergmeister (No. 912) will join the pairings at the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
The headquarters for the program will be at Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA) in Santa Ana, Calif. CORE autosport, Rock Hill, South Carolina, will act as the competition partner for the program.
The new 911 RSR has not raced in an American championship as yet; its first North American race was in the FIA World Endurance Championship weekend at Austin last year.
