Denny Hamlin defends Chase points change idea on Twitter

Denny Hamlin won the last race of the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season, and is first on Twitter to defend the idea of a potential Chase points structure change.

The idea was brought to light last night following a report by the Charlotte Observer‘s Jim Utter, with NASCAR then issuing a response shortly afterwards.

Anyway, while drivers have yet to truly chime in on the matter, Hamlin offered a couple tweets on Saturday to outlined the potential excitement this could bring.

The “arm scratching” line is, of course, paying tribute to Clint Bowyer’s infamous spin at Richmond last September, that set off a firestorm of controversy regarding who did and didn’t make the Chase for the Sprint Cup.

He added a couple more tweets when asked by fans about consistency.

Even though he just won the biggest race in the world two weeks ago, there’s no question what is more important to Will Power: being a father or winning the Indianapolis 500.

“Being Beau’s father,” Power said of his 17-month-old son Beau.
