With more than 234,000 fans, media and NASCAR officials already following him, it was likely only a matter of time before Dale Earnhardt Jr. finally joined the Twitter-sphere.
That’s what he did as an encore for winning Sunday’s Daytona 500.
During his post-race press conference, Earnhardt joked, “Pay attention here. I’ll be tweeting here in a minute. Gotta get my password.”
The 100-plus media members thought Earnhardt was joking, but about two hours later, sure enough, Junior was now officially a bonafide tweeter. His first official tweet is below.
