This morning in St. Petersburg, Andretti Autosport’s James Hinchcliffe was honored for his victory last year on the 1.8-mile street circuit as a plaque bearing his name was added to the track’s Victory Circle Monument.
The monument, situated at Turn 10, is next to a memorial for late two-time Indianapolis 500 champion Dan Wheldon, who made his home in St. Petersburg with his family. Wheldon won the 2005 Indianapolis 500 and Verizon IndyCar Series title as a member of the Andretti team (then known as Andretti Green Racing).
