Today on NASCAR AMERICA, Nationwide Series rookie Chase Elliott called in to talk about his inaugural NNS victory Friday at Texas Motor Speedway – which came three days before he got back to his high school classes.
As we detailed late Friday night, the 18-year-old Elliott – the son of 1988 Sprint Cup champion Bill Elliott – is a senior at a private Christian school in suburban Atlanta. At the time, he expected to have a “normal Monday” at school, even after all the buzz his win was to receive.
And sure enough, Elliott told host Rick Allen that he was “in the same boat as everybody else.”
“Nobody likes going to school or work on Mondays,” he said.
