WATCH LIVE: FP3 for the German Grand Prix


Following on from the first two practice sessions on Friday in Germany, the teams will get one final chance to test their cars and work on their setup during FP3 ahead of qualifying later today.

Predictably, Mercedes ruled the roost once again during practice, with Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton each topping a session ahead of their teammate.

However, they did admit that the loss of FRIC was noticeable despite the rest of the field saying otherwise, and it could be that Mercedes’ advantage isn’t as sizeable in Germany as it has been in the past.

In fact, over one lap, Red Bull appears to be within a few tenths of Mercedes, even if its race pace still leaves much to be desired. Daniel Ricciardo finished as best of the rest in FP2, just one-tenth of a second behind Hamilton at the top of the timesheets, but he may have a fight with the Williams, Ferrari and McLaren drivers for the final podium position – not to mention his four-time world champion teammate Sebastian Vettel.
