Jeff Gordon became only the third driver in NASCAR history to win 90 Sprint Cup races on Sunday, when he won the Brickyard 400 for a fifth time at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Richard Petty’s all-time mark of 200 Cup wins may never be beaten. But by the time Gordon’s career is through, he could push toward the triple digits and perhaps challenge David Pearson, currently No. 2 in Cup wins with 105.
Petty, Pearson and Gordon all competed in different eras with different levels of competition. So where does four-time Cup champion Gordon fit in among NASCAR’s icons? Rick Allen, Bobby Labonte, and Kyle Petty give their takes in the clip above.
NASCAR AMERICA will continue to look back on Gordon’s historic win at Indy today at 5 p.m. ET on NBCSN and NBC Sports Live Extra.
