North of the border in Trois-Rivieres this weekend, the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race ended early after a scary accident involving driver Xavier Coupal on Lap 51.
Coupal contacted another car driven by Marc-Antoine Camirand, and was sent into a series of barrel rolls at the street circuit. A video of the accident is linked here, via RDS in Canada.

As the race ended early due to the accident, local driver Louis-Philippe Dumoulin of Trois-Rivieres took the victory, his second of the season. He’d passed Kerry Micks earlier in the race and held off ex-Champ Car driver and two-time series champion Andrew Ranger for the win.
