NASCAR: Multiple non-Chase drivers testing today at Homestead-Miami

Seven non-Chase drivers are at Homestead-Miami Speedway today to take part in a Goodyear tire test that was rescheduled from its original date of Aug. 26.

As stipulated by NASCAR, Chase-eligible drivers are not allowed for this particular test – although Chase-eligible teams can be represented.

Homestead will host the Ford Ecoboost 400, the season-ending Championship Round, on Nov. 16.

Two of the seven drivers involved are testing for Chase-bound teams that aren’t their own. HScott Motorsports’ rookie Justin Allgaier is testing for Hendrick Motorsports, while Furniture Row Racing’s Martin Truex Jr. is testing for JTG Daugherty Racing.

The other five drivers are: Ryan Blaney for Team Penske, Danica Patrick for Stewart-Haas Racing, Austin Dillon for Richard Childress Racing, Sam Hornish Jr. for Joe Gibbs Racing, and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. for Roush Fenway Racing.
