Don’t be surprised if Chad Knaus or Steve Letarte jump the next time they suddenly hear drip-drip-drip — or see a grass sprinkler start up.
According to Dustin Long of MRN.com, the offices of Knaus and Letarte at the Hendrick Motorsports complex in Concord, N.C., were doused last week when a water main valve broke, spewing the wet stuff all over.
Offices of other team personnel, particularly engineering and support staff, were also affected, forcing several – including Letarte and Knaus – to relocate until the damage was repaired and cleaned up.
It’s estimated that will take up to two weeks.
Long also noted, “There was no damage to the shop floor, cars or equipment. The water damage did not impact car preparation and there has been no time lost in the shop.”
Jeff Gordon’s and Kasey Kahne’s team shops were not affected, as they are housed in a different building on the HMS campus.
