Rain postpones Chicagoland Truck race to Saturday, will be part of doubleheader with Nationwide Series race

JOLIET, Ill. — A constant rain that began mid-afternoon failed to abate, prompting NASCAR officials to postpone Friday night’s Lucas Oil 225 Camping World Truck Series race to Saturday evening at Chicagoland Speedway.

“The weather has got the best of us this evening,” NASCAR spokesman Kerry Tharp said. “We’re going to postpone the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race.

“It will be held here tomorrow, following the NASCAR Nationwide Series race, with green flag time at approximately 7 pm ET. FoxSports2 will televise the race.”

The postponement means NASCAR will hold a rare doubleheader of races from two major series on the same date and on the same racetrack. The Nationwide Series’ Jimmy Johns Freaky Fast 300 will start at 3:45 pm ET.
