Kevin Harvick is halfway leader at Loudon, Denny Hamlin suffers strange mishap

Kevin Harvick is the halfway leader of Sunday’s Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Harvick has dominated the race, leading about half of the first 150 laps of the 300-lap event.

Joey Logano is running second, followed by Jeff Gordon, Brian Vickers and Jamie McMurray.

Chicagoland winner and pole-sitter Brad Keselowski is running sixth, followed by Matt Kenseth, Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson and Ryan Newman.

Denny Hamlin’s Chase chances took a huge hit when the fuel filler — where fuel is added to his Camry — became disengaged¬†collapsed. Hamlin is now down four laps behind the leaders after repairs were made.

Kurt Busch suffered a loose lug nut, which has dropped him back in the pack. Likewise, Dale Earnhardt Jr. suffered a loose wheel on Lap 124 and had to pit for service.

Aric Almirola, who came into the race 52 points behind points leader Keselowski, is running 11th. He needs at top-five to get back into the Chase and potentially avoid being one of the first four drivers to be eliminated after next Sunday’s race at Dover.
