It’s abundantly clear that Joey Logano, crew chief Todd Gordon, and the No. 22 Team Penske camp have become a well-oiled group.
They delivered another reminder of that Sunday at Kansas Speedway, where Logano scored his second win of the 2014 Chase for the Sprint Cup to move on to the Eliminator Round.
As Logano indicated in Victory Lane to NASCAR on NBC contributor Nate Ryan, he’s happier being the aggressor on the track – and Gordon and the team have kept that in mind.
“I’m not very good at playing defense,” Logano said. “I usually get beat when that happens, and Tod knows that. Tod knows where my strengths are, and we’re able to build the car to my strengths, whether that’s through practice or calling the race.
“He does a great job knowing that. It’s all about communication and chemistry that we have, and we’re able to put some fast race cars on the race track.”
