Following their crashes last weekend at Kansas, Brad Keselowski, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Jimmie Johnson are facing a virtual must-win situation Saturday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway in order to make the Chase’s Eliminator Round.
But a victory is not a “Mission: Impossible” for any of them.
As you’ll recall, Keselowski rebounded from not making the 2013 Chase by winning this Bank of America 500 one year ago.
Johnson’s won at Charlotte seven times, including this past May in the Coca-Cola 600.
And while Earnhardt has never won a Sprint Cup points race on the 1.5-mile oval, he was your leader on Sunday before his tire failure and subsequent wreck just before halfway.
It’s not an ideal situation they’re in, certainly. But as Wally Dallenbach of NASCAR AMERICA explains in the clip above, they can get the job done.
