CONCORD, N.C. – Friday night’s Drive for the Cure 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race barely began before there was a huge pileup just seconds after the green flag fell.
Twelve cars were involved in a wreck on the transition from the fronstretch to Turn 1.
From ESPN replays, it appeared that Ryan Reed spun his tires on the start of the race, and then J.J. Yeley and Chris Buescher both checked up, leading to a domino effect.
In addition to Yeley (Buscher’s car did not suffer any appreciable damage), others involved with varying degrees of damage were Matt DiBenedetto, Corey LaJoie, Tanner Berryhill Mike Bliss, Derrike Cope, Will Kimmel, David Starr, Jeffrey Earnhardt, Ross Chastain, Dylan Kwasniewski and Jamie Dick.
