You expect Matt Kenseth to turn seemingly so-so performances into great finishes on the track.
You do not expect Matt Kenseth to take part in a garage fight.
But that’s exactly what happened Saturday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway after his car was tagged by Brad Keselowski during the initial moments following the Bank of America 500.
Keselowski and Denny Hamlin first skirmished on the cool-down lap and again in the garages. But after Keselowski left the scene while Hamlin was being restrained by his team, Kenseth tracked Keselowski down between two haulers and attempted to tackle him – igniting a scuffle between their respective crews.
For better or worse, it was a prime display of emotion between drivers that have been dealing with immense pressure throughout the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
