Elliott Sadler, reportedly suffering from stomach virus, will start today’s Nationwide race

Due to a reported stomach virus, Nationwide Series veteran Elliott Sadler did not take part earlier today in qualifying at Texas Motor Speedway for the O’Reilly Challenge later this afternoon.

However, Sadler will start today’s 300-mile race (green flag shortly after 3:30 p.m. ET) in his No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota. On standby will be Sprint Cup regular Clint Bowyer.

While Sadler was receiving fluids in the infield care center per Fox Sports’ qualifying broadcast, Bowyer replaced him in the No. 11 during that session.

Bowyer put the car 17th on the grid but since Sadler will be starting today’s race after all, the No. 11 will have to go to the rear of the field according to Bob Pockrass of the Sporting News:
