Hamilton: Everything to play for in Abu Dhabi (VIDEO)

Lewis Hamilton has said that there is everything to play for at the last race of the year in Abu Dhabi as he goes in search of a second Formula 1 world championship.

The British driver saw his lead at the top of the drivers’ standings fall to 17 points as he finished second in today’s Brazilian Grand Prix behind teammate and title rival Nico Rosberg.

Hamilton only needs to finish the final race of the year in second place to win the world championship for the first time since 2008, but a mistake today meant that he could not win a sixth straight race in Brazil.

Nevertheless, the Briton was pleased with the race at Interlagos, saying that he enjoyed the fight with Rosberg at the front of the field.

“It was an amazing race, I had a great time,” Hamilton said on the podium after the race. “Obviously I had a big mistake in the mid part of the race, but otherwsie the car was fantastic. The team did an amazing job. It was a great race for Nico and it’s great to see Felipe [Massa] up here. We had the best crowd today, so I enjoyed it.”

When asked about his approach for Abu Dhabi, Hamilton said that he would go about it the same way.

“I’m gonna drive pretty much the same,” he said. “Hopefully I’ll improve over today. Obviously I lost a little bit of time, but there’s everything to play for at the last race.”
