Nine little reindeer – even one with a glowing red nose – just won’t do for Santa Claus when he has to make a big entrance into the Racing Capitol of the World.
Luckily, he’s learned to let the locals help him in his journeys to Indianapolis.
Today at Clay Terrace Mall outside the city, Santa made his arrival waving from the back of an IndyCar two-seater driven by current Verizon IndyCar Series team owner and former racer Sarah Fisher.
It’s not the first time one of IndyCar’s finest has been called upon to chauffeur jolly old Saint Nicholas. Last year, Ed Carpenter – Fisher’s ownership partner at the recently-merged CFH Racing – had the honors.
