Driving on ice can prove nerve-wracking to some. But for Formula One racers like Romain Grosjean, it’s just another challenge.
The Frenchman may have endured a tough season in 2014 for Lotus but he recently had a successful weekend in the Trophee Andros ice racing series, which serves as his country’s national championship in that discipline.
A few days before Christmas, Grosjean competed in the series’ two-day event at Alpe d’Huez, France. Driving a Renault Clio, he opened the weekend with a podium run to third place before falling back to eighth in the next day’s race.
Yesterday, Grosjean uploaded a nice in-car camera clip from his third-place run, which you can see below. It appears he’s going to lose out on a position after the standing start, but takes third back before beginning his chase of the top two competitors on this super-twisty circuit.
