Verizon IndyCar Series driver Marco Andretti will make his FIA Formula E Championship debut with Andretti FE next race at Buenos Aires, Argentina, next weekend.
Andretti will take over the No. 28 entry previously driven by Matthew Brabham. Jean-Eric Vergne returns for his second straight race, as well.
For Andretti, his series debut will mark his first official time in a race car of any kind since the IndyCar finale at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana back in August. It will also be his first time in the FE car, not having tested previously.
“I’ve been looking forward to the chance to get behind the wheel of a Formula E car,” Andretti said. “Having never been in the car, it’s a bit of an unfamiliar situation for me but the team’s pace looks solid enough for a great result. I like unknown situations; I’m up for the task.”
Franck Montagny, who drove the opening two rounds of the season for the team, faces an uncertain future after his admission of a positive cocaine test announced on Thursday.
