Two in-season tests for Formula One have been finalized for the Red Bull Ring in Austria (pictured) and the Circuit de Catalunya outside Barcelona, Spain.
Both tests will occur the week following the tracks’ respective Grand Prix events. Circuit de Catalunya hosts the Spanish Grand Prix on May 10, while Red Bull Ring will host the Austrian Grand Prix on June 21.
For this year’s in-season tests, teams are obliged to use at least two of the four total test days to run young drivers.
This year’s regulations also allow teams two “promotional days” for marketing/filming, but for these, drivers cannot go more than 100km in length and must only use tires manufactured specifically for this purpose.
Last year, F1 teams enjoyed four in-season tests at Bahrain International Circuit, Circuit de Catalunya, Silverstone Circuit in England, and Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit following the season finale there.
