The first of the new McLaren Hondas will be unveiled on Thursday, January 29, the team announced on Friday.
McLaren tested an interim chassis, the MP4-29X1/H1, at the postseason Abu Dhabi test with then-reserve driver Stoffel Vandoorne. The new car has already passed its crash test.
This will then be the car’s proper launch after the team’s 2015 driver announcement of Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button, with Kevin Magnussen retained as new reserve driver, hailed the McLaren Honda heritage at the McLaren Technology Center.
McLaren looks to improve on its fifth place finish in the 2014 Constructor’s Championship.
