NASCAR: Jeff Gordon goes tricycle racing at Wizards-Spurs game (VIDEO)

The Washington Wizards wanted to see if four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon was as good with his own two legs and three wheels as he is inside his No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet.

So, leading into the second quarter of tonight’s Wizards’ game with the NBA champion San Antonio Spurs, Gordon took part in a tricycle race on the court against a fan. You can check out a clip of the race above from our friends at CSN Washington.

The two competitors got a standing start from the mid-court line, but Gordon immediately seized the lead going into the first turn and never looked back. It looks like he’s already in mid-season form.

Gordon was in the Nation’s Capitol today to do media interviews ahead of the Daytona 500 on February 22. But after his work was done, he headed over to the Verizon Center for tonight’s contest.

He met up with some of the Wizards as well as Washington Capitals defenseman Steven Oleksy, who presented Gordon with his own custom Caps jersey.
