Every Dakar Rally competitor has the daily goal of getting to the next bivouac at the end of the day, preferably in the fastest way possible.
But for drivers and riders that encounter problems in the daylight, they must keep charging across the land in the darkness.
In the recent case of Andres Germano (pictured) and his truck team, they had to rely on help to get their battered machine going again after it had overturned in the soft sands.
Once repairs were complete, they motored on but were eventually forced to stop and sleep in the dunes. However, they were certainly not the only competitors there.
Check out the clip above to see how the Germano team, as well as other Dakar competitors, tried to find their way.
