Xfinity Series driver Blake Koch to race Hip-Hop star Flo Rida at Homestead-Miami Speedway

It’s been a busy off-season for NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Blake Koch.

He re-signed with TriStar Motorsports, and recently announced he will drive a brand new Toyota Camry with a new number on the side of his car: No. 8.

Now, just before he heads off to the season-opening weekend at Daytona International Speedway, Koch will warm up for the 2015 season with a match race of sorts with Grammy-nominated and multi-award winning Hip-Hop artist Flo Rida.

A big race fan, Flo Rida served as Honorary Starter for the 2014 season-ending Ford EcoBoost 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He’ll face off with Koch at the South Florida track on Feb. 9 for their race.

Both Koch and Flo Rida are Florida natives.

At Homestead, the pair will have a winner-take-all 10-lap run around the 1.5-mile track as part of a promotion for Celsius Flo Fusion, the world’s first negative calorie beverage backed by clinical science.

Koch will drive the No. 8 car, while Flo Rida will drive the No. 10 car.

“I am excited to actually get behind the wheel of the No. 10 car and race a professional driver,” Flo Rida said in a media release. “Blake and I are both so focused on fitness and living a healthy lifestyle, and we are proud to be a part of the Celsius team and to show our fans, through the race and fan contest, the amazing benefits Flo Fusion can have upon their fitness regimen.”

Fans can enter a contest at to win tickets to spend the day at Homestead, including taking in the race.

“I am so excited to be racing against Flo Rida in February with the Celsius team to help promote Flo Fusion that accelerates your transformation at Homestead-Miami Speedway,” Koch said.

“This will be a fun, competitive event where our fans will get to see us take part in a unique racing opportunity in hopes of encouraging each of them to experience the benefits of Celsius like we do.”
