Two bits of news have emerged involving the 2015 cars for both Scuderia Toro Rosso and Sahara Force India.
We’ll start with Toro Rosso, which has confirmed a Jan. 31 unveiling of its new Renault-powered STR10 on the pit lane at Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.
The first of three 2015 preseason test sessions will begin at Jerez the following day.
The team has also confirmed that its two new drivers, Carlos Sainz Jr. and Max Verstappen, will split the four days of testing at Jerez. Sainz will run the first and third days of the test, while Verstappen will handle the second and fourth days.
As for Force India, they will delay the public debut of its new Mercedes-powered VJM08 to February 19 and the second preseason test session in Barcelona. The team will run its 2014 machine, the VJM07, in the opening Jerez test.
News of the VJM08’s delay comes one day before the team holds its official 2015 launch ceremony in Mexico City. As of now, Force India is the first team to reveal a delay on its new car this winter.
While we’ll have to wait a bit longer to see the Silverstone team’s latest challenger, we do know that it will bear a new sponsor as a deal has been struck with worldwide tequila giant Jose Cuervo.
Force India says that the Cuervo brand will be spotted on the VJM08’s headrests, as well as on the driver suits for Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg plus other team apparel.
