Two-time Moto GP world champion Marc Marquez has unveiled the new Repsol Honda bike for the 2015 season as he bids to complete his hat-trick of titles.
The Spanish sensation became the first rookie since Kenny Roberts in 1978 to win the premier class title in 2013, and then doubled up in 2014 with a dominant display.
Today in Bali, Indonesia, the Honda factory team unveiled its new bike for the 2015 season ahead of the first test in Malaysia this week.
“It’s been a long and busy winter break and now I’m really looking forward to starting the season,” Marquez said. “It’s great to be able to present our new bikes in Indonesia, together with our partner Astra Honda, it’s such a beautiful backdrop. It’s my first time here in Bali and it’s wonderful to see all the fans here and feel their enthusiasm for Moto GP.
“Tomorrow we leave for Malaysia, I’ve trained a lot during last month to prepare myself for these first two tests in Sepang and I’m excited to be with my crew again and see how the new bike is working after Valencia test.”
Marquez will once again be joined at Repsol Honda by compatriot Dani Pedrosa, who will be looking to provide his teammate with a stiffer challenge for the championship in 2015.
“It’s been really nice, and something different to have our team presentation here in Bali, so thanks to Astra Honda,” Pedrosa said.
“It never stops to amaze me how passional the fans are for our sport in this part of the world. I’ve had a good winter, with a mix of relaxation and training and now I’m ready and highly motivated to get back on the bike in Sepang in a few days!”
