Chip Ganassi Racing kicked off 2015 preseason Verizon IndyCar Series testing at NOLA Motorsports Park last month, and a number of IndyCar drivers also got some well-deserved seat time in last month’s Rolex 24 at Daytona.
Meanwhile the next two weeks are going to see more running than normal with several teams testing both at NOLA and this week, at Sebring International Raceway’s short course.
As previously written, Schmidt Peterson Motorsports will be back in action with James Hinchcliffe having his second team test and Conor Daly his first, as he auditions for a ride.
Elsewhere Graham Rahal and Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing will be back in action for the first time since a single day at Barber last fall, while Andretti Autosport (Ryan Hunter-Reay, Marco Andretti, Carlos Munoz) and CFH Racing (Josef Newgarden, Luca Filippi) will also be testing. Filippi’s test is his first since signing with the team last week.
Rahal and Hunter-Reay told MotorSportsTalk at the Rolex 24 they’d be testing soon in February. Andretti will have his first day of running with his new number of 27.
Testing at Sebring this week will see these four teams and eight drivers in action. Upwards of 15 are expected next week at NOLA.
