It’s another new year, and thus another time for a motor oil ad involving a NASCAR driver.
You might remember the “Smoke is the Bandit” series from Mobil 1 last year, featuring Tony Stewart.
Now, Valvoline has introduced Jimmie Johnson as “Jimmie the Scientist.” And yes, you’re not the only one thinking how weird it is that Valvoline – for decades associated with Ford and Roush Fenway Racing – is working in this ad with Hendrick Motorsports, Chevrolet, and “Six-time.”
Still, the relationship between Valvoline and HMS was launched in fall 2013.
Johnson was brought on for this particular video to provide real-world analogies as Valvoline has announced wide-scale availability of its Full Synthetic High Mileage motor oil with MaxLife technology. The lubricant offers drivers a superior level of engine protection that guards against the three major causes of engine stress: heat, deposits and wear.
