Pirelli has confirmed the tire choice it will bring to the opening four Grands Prix of the season, with the soft and medium compounds the most frequent game plan.
The softs and mediums – the soft as the option and medium as the prime – will be used at the Australian, Chinese and Bahrain Grands Prix.
Due to the heat and abrasive nature of the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, Pirelli will bring the more durable hard compound there. The mediums will be the option.
From Pirelli: “Although the P Zero range has evolved from 2014, with a new rear construction designed to distribute forces and temperatures more evenly, these nominations are in fact the same as those made by Pirelli for the equivalent races last year.”
Here’s the breakdown:
- Australia: P Zero Yellow soft (option), P Zero White medium (prime)
- Malaysia: P Zero White medium (option), P Zero Orange hard (prime)
- China: P Zero Yellow soft (option), P Zero White medium (prime)
- Bahrain: P Zero Yellow soft (option), P Zero White medium (prime)
The P Zero Red (supersoft) will be pressed into action later this year.
