The long, dark offseason for the Verizon IndyCar Series is finally coming to an end with next week’s official series test at Barber Motorsports Park on Monday and Tuesday, March 16-17.
This will mark the first time all teams will be running together with the new Chevrolet and Honda aero kits.
The entry list has 23 cars, with a handful of notable items. Both Dale Coyne Racing Hondas are entered with driver TBA, while Sage Karam will test for Chip Ganassi Racing Teams and Simona de Silvestro will not be testing for Andretti Autosport.
Karam and de Silvestro are confirmed for St. Petersburg only as the fourth car in their respective teams.
Meanwhile a handful more teams have revealed glimpses of their cars in livery.
CGR team manager Mike Hull posted a pic of Scott Dixon’s No. 9 Target Chevrolet:
Meanwhile Schmidt Peterson Motorsports have revealed its two Honda-powered entries. James Jakes (No. 7) and James Hinchcliffe (No. 5) are the team’s two new drivers for 2015.
Other team testing occurs this weekend at NOLA Motorsports Park and Texas Motor Speedway, before teams convene at Barber on Monday.
