Alonso set for McLaren simulator run on Wednesday

Fernando Alonso will have his first action of note since his Barcelona testing accident, with a run in McLaren’s simulator on Wednesday.

Alonso missed the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, ruling himself out after he sustained a concussion at Barcelona.

Reserve driver Kevin Magnussen filled in, but didn’t even get to start the race with an engine failure he suffered on his reconnaissance lap.

Alonso will look to make his McLaren race return in Malaysia in two weeks, a circuit where he scored his first career pole (2003 with Renault) and has won on multiple occasions.
