Olivier Pla has taken the No. 57 Krohn Racing Ligier JS P2 Judd to the overall pole for Saturday’s 63rd Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.
Pla set a best time of 1:51.152, about eight tenths up on last year’s best time set by Sebastien Bourdais.
“We were really strong in all the sessions from yesterday,” Pla said. “Qualifying went really well. I made maybe one mistake I think. But then after, I got more laps to do, and I was able to go. For me, one lap before the end of the session was the pole. I’m very happy. The car was fantastic and the team did a great job. I’m looking forward to the race tomorrow. For sure we’ll be working hard and working on strategy. It’s always nice to start on pole, especially the pole at Sebring.”
Pla will share the car with Tracy Krohn and Nic Jonsson. Krohn Racing finished fourth in GTLM last year in a Ferrari F458 Italia, and look for at least a podium if not a win in Prototype and overall on Saturday.
Other class polesitters include Martin Plowman (PC), Fred Makowiecki (GTLM) and Jeroen Bleekemolen (GTD) for the race that starts at 10:40 a.m. ET and local time Saturday morning.
