The latest musical act for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s 2015 slate has been confirmed, and it’s a big one.
The long-rumored appearance of The Rolling Stones at IMS has in fact become a reality, with the rock and roll legends hitting the Speedway on July 4 as part of its’ new 15-city North American stadium ZIP CODE tour.
“The Rolling Stones concert on July 4 will mark the first time the Indianapolis Motor Speedway has hosted a concert on a non-race weekend,” J. Douglas Boles, Indianapolis Motor Speedway president, said in a release.
“The biggest band in the world playing at the biggest sporting venue in the world will provide an unbelievable experience for our fans. It doesn’t get any better than the Rolling Stones on Fourth of July Weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.”
The IMS Stones appearance falls after the month of May, where the Verizon IndyCar Series takes over the track, and before the NASCAR weekend at the end of July.
