An alleged thief is on the loose after reportedly breaking and entering Bill Estes Chevrolet, and stealing an Indianapolis 500 Festival pace car, according to a police report and multiple Indianapolis media reports.
Per the Indianapolis Star, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officers were called to the dealership, located on 96th St., around 11:30 p.m. for reports of a stolen Chevrolet Camaro (one is pictured from 2011 to the right, but this is not necessarily the stolen car itself).
Per FOX 59, police reported the suspect – who was described as a shirtless white male – drove the car through the glass front door, shattering the glass, and down a flight of stairs.
Not long after, the car was found at Fort Road and Irishman Run Lane in Zionsville when police said the car was no longer drivable.
UPDATE: Bill Estes Chevrolet has been gracious enough to post a video of the aftermath. It’s embedded below.
