UPDATED: NOLA second practice due to start after weather delay


AVONDALE, La. – Second practice is due to start at 5:20 p.m. local time (6:20 p.m. ET) following the rain delay.

ORIGINAL, 5:10 p.m. ET: It’s raining – heavily – at NOLA Motorsports Park this Friday afternoon.

All track activity is currently on hold due to the severe weather, and a severe weather advisory has been issued:

“Due to severe weather, please evacuate all grandstands and open areas and take shelter immediately inside the event center, speed shop, trackside club, karting facility or member garage area until further notice. Buses will be available at the Torque Lane roundabout for additional shelter.”

Verizon IndyCar Series second practice was scheduled from 4:15 to 5:35 p.m. CT and local time.
